Tickets for the carnival are being sold at the door along with the aale today. After the carnival a dance, sponsored by Nstional Honor Society, will be held. Admission for the dance, which honors the royal court, if 10 cents a person. On the dance committee are Karen M. Johnson and Sharon Johnson as chairmen with Pat O'Malley and Darla Pierce on the publicity committee. Greene, county superinten dent, and taken under advise ment Members of the county court and the county superintendent of schools constitute the dis trict boundary board. At the last session of the state legislature six school dis tricts were sbandoned and an nexed to adjoining districts. The McCoy school was one sbandoned and when sold the lt step by which the various school districts will be Joined I to their respective districts will be completed. Scott, USC and GS, who lost his life in the service of his country while engaged in surveying operations ia Mt McKinley Park, Alaska, the U.S. board of geographic namea haa approved a recom mendation that one of the mountains located near the scene- of the fatal accident be named Scott Peak. The peak with an elevation of about 8,800 feet ia located in Mt McKinley Park, ap proximately 33 miles north cast of Mount McKinley. Lt Scott lost his life while engsged in an aerial-mapping mission over some of the most difficult terrain on earth. He waa born In Portland, July 11, 1829, and received his educa tion in the public schools of Nehalem, Ore. and attended Oregon State College. He en listed in the nsvy V-1J pro gram at the University of Washington In 1843 and was commissioned ensign In No vember, 1843. Lt. Scott entered the service of the coast and geodetic sur vey In 1848 and hia assign ments with the buresu includ ed servic aboard the USC&GS ship Pathfinder in Alaska, Arctic survey parties in the Poltn Barrow area and field parties In Texss, Colorado, and Nevada. He ia survived by his father, John H. Scott, a retired Ore gon State highway engineer and his mother, Elizabeth, of Neahkanie Beach and a broth er, Lewis of Salem, who is geologist with the State High way Department. As the world citizenship country being studied by all unite in Marion county thia year will be Hawaii. All these parties are planned with pro grams using Hawaiian foods for lunch snd some special program telling about that country. Mrs. A. M. Moen, Mrs. Henry Raaen, Mrs. Earl Hampton and Mrs. M. A. Nel son were hostesses for this special luncheon serving Ha waiian foods. The program waa a talk by Miss Helalne Lung a student from that country now at Willamette University.
